Rhinoplasty is the medical term for surgery of the nose. Rhinoplasty can be performed for cosmetic purposes, to improve nasal breathing, or to repair the injured nose. Dr. Vartanian prefers to keep many of the nose’s natural cartilaginous and soft tissue support structures intact to ensure predictable long term results. In some cases, the use of autogenous cartilage grafts from the septum, ear, or ribs can be used to add support to the nose. This is especially relevant in traumatic or revision rhinoplasty cases.
