liposuction lipomas
liposuction lipomas
can liposuction be covered as a medically necessary procedure covered by insurance if you have many lipomas?
I know insurances vary – but is a condition where you have lipomas lets say on your abdomen, pelvic region – a reason you are allowed to lipo many out?
Lipomas in general are not life-threatening. A lipoma is basically a fat tumor. They are sacks of fatty tissue (adipose) that form throughout the body. Being that they are considered non life-threatening, I would say that most insurance companies are going to regard liposuction for this reason as cosmetic. Lipomas are not normally extracted in that manner, they are usually excised surgically. Of course, excision usually occurs when the surgeon finds them while they are inside your body for another reason, but this is not always the case.
