liposuction – does the fat “grow back”?

After 35 a male collects fat around the abdomen. Diet and exercise can reduce body fat percentage until the “spare tire” is gone, but in a 35-year-old a body fat percentage this low (12-15%) would result in a very thin / bony look everywhere else on the body.

I’m considering liposuction around the mid-section and leaving my body fat percentage where it is (19%). After liposuction, would the mid-section fat “grow back” at 19% body fat?

After 18 years of age your brown fat stores are mostly depleted. Brown fat is the only type of fat which can replicate (multiply). Since we adults do not possess brown fat, when liposuction removes fat cells, they shall never come back. Only the fat cells that remain can hyprtrophy- and there is a limit to increase in their size. Therefore, fat coming back to the area that has been suctioned is a myth.
