Mastectomy / reconstructive surgery – low blood count?

My best friend is 35 and / or diagnosed HER2-positive breast cancer and subjected Recently a mastectomy over a month. The surgeon who performed her mastectomy she said she did not need radiation. The radiation oncologist insists that radiation does need a second opinion said he did not need radiation. She is now ready for reconstructive surgery and plastic surgeon tells her she can not have any surgery until their blood levels rise. Please help me understand this. This has not only been an eye opener, but a learning experience for me because I make the trip with her! Therefore, had the mastectomy, while their levels were low, so what is the difference? Can not a blood transfusion? Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!

The reason that the surgeon Plastic is so worried about her blood count is low is because the work they do for the reconstruction is much more invasive in terms of type of reconstruction you choose to have done to reconstruct the breast. However, I would recommend to take another opinion from another plastic surgeon to see what they say.
