Tips, Tricks, and Techniques on Liposuction
Liposuction is more than just taking off the excess fats in particular areas in the body. Learn more of the tips and techniques used in liposuction.
Although the methodology varies, the basic procedure behind liposuction is the insertion of tubes to suction out fat. Here are some guides to help you decide which kind of procedure will best suit you. Consult with a Philippine cosmetic surgeon if the technique you have decided upon will best achieve the result you want.
- Super weight technique makes use of a special kind of substance to make the fat more firm and the blood veins shrink to prevent excessive blood loss. The tubes are then inserted to suck out fat. According to surgeons, the amount of solution injected is proportional to the amount of fat which will be sucked out of the body. This technique is similar to another technique called the tumescent technique except that the former uses general anesthesia while the latter utilizes a local anesthesia called lidocaine. The whole procedure will last until 2 hours.
- Fluid injection utilizes a solution consisting of lidocaine which is the safest local anesthesia around, salt solution, and a drug which makes the blood vessels decrease in size. This solution is then directly injected into the fatty tissues. This is one of the most popular techniques today.
- Ultrasound assisted lipoplasty or UAL is named as such because it makes use of energy from the ultrasound to liquefy the fat. This will make it easier for the fat to pass through the tubes inserted. This kind of technique is especially recommended in areas of the body containing fibrous fat. Examples of such body parts include the male breast or a person’s back. This kind of technique may sometimes cause skin irritation or tissue injuries.
- Power Assisted Liposuction or PAL uses a special tool which gets its power from electricity or compressed air. The result is that the tube goes in and out of the fatty tissues at a fast rate to suck out the fat.
- Tumescent Technique makes use of a special kind of solution to make the fat firm and the blood vessels constrict. It then follows the basic procedure of liposuction.
